Introduction

With 1.5 million people diagnosed with diabetes a year, the ability to effectively self-manage blood glucose levels is critical to the quality of life for a large part of the population. The long-term complication that arises from years of elevated blood sugar levels can trigger a host of health issues. Eye problems, nerve damage, kidney damage, depression, and other mental issues. Previous studies have explored some of the reasons for low usage of diabetes apps, including overall usability, lack of relevant features, and no long-term educational component.
